The Spring 2026 collections landed with a clear point of view: less noise, more intention. Designers spent the season stripping menswear back to its structure and rebuilding it around comfort, proportion and material honesty.
1. The Long Line
The single biggest shift this season is vertical. Jackets sit lower on the hip, overcoats graze the calf, and trousers break clean over the shoe instead of stacking. The effect is a longer, calmer silhouette that flatters almost every frame.
Look for unstructured shoulders and a single button placed low. Paired with a fine-gauge knit rather than a shirt, it reads modern rather than formal. Start with coats and jackets.
2. Soft Tailoring, Hard Fabrics
Tailoring hasn't disappeared — it relaxed. The season's suiting arrives in dry wools, raw silks and heavy cottons that hold a shape without a rigid canvas inside. You get the authority of a suit with the ease of a cardigan.
The styling trick is deliberate mismatch: a tailored jacket over knitwear and denim, or trousers with a hooded layer. Nothing should look like it arrived as a set.
3. Quiet Monogram
Logos are still here, but they went tonal. Embossed leather, jacquard woven in the same colour as the ground cloth, monogram visible only when light hits it at an angle. The signal is for people standing close enough to read it.
This is where Dior and Louis Vuitton are strongest this season — the codes are intact, the volume is down.
4. The Return of the Blouson
Short, full through the body, cinched at the waist and cuff. The blouson is the season's most useful jacket because it works over tailoring and under an overcoat.
Leather versions read evening; nylon and technical cotton read weekend. Either way the proportion is the point — nothing below the hip.
5. Footwear Gets Serious
Sneakers didn't leave, but they grew up: lower profiles, leather uppers, fewer panels. Alongside them, the loafer had its best season in a decade, worn with cropped trousers and no socks well into the evening.
Build the season around two pairs — one clean leather sneaker and one loafer. Everything else is optional.
How to Wear It Now
Spring 2026 rewards restraint. Pick one long piece, one soft tailored piece and one sharp accessory, then stop. The season's best-dressed men are wearing fewer items in better proportion — not more items in louder colours.
